Charles Joguet—artist, revolutionary, father of modern Chinon—pioneered terroir-specific bottlings in this appellation. Clos du Chêne Vert is one of Chinon's mythical parcels: a monopole on southwest-facing clay-limestone slopes within the city itself, producing elegant, tannic, age-worthy Cabernet Franc. The 2019 offers blackberry, currant, graphite, and chalk with well-built structure and mouthwatering acidity.
