This is the wine that made a Burgundy legend stop in his tracks: when the Marquis d'Angerville blind-tasted a Tissot Chardonnay, it sent him off to start his own Jura project. The Clos de la Tour de Curon is Stephane Tissot's flagship, a walled vineyard replanted at punishing density and worked by horse, on the marl that he calls the Jura's answer to Montrachet. Like all the Chardonnay here it's made ouille, topped up in barrel to stay fresh and precise rather than oxidative. What you get is grand-cru-caliber depth and tension from one of France's most gifted, biodynamic-minded vignerons. The 2022 is built for the long haul. This is as serious as white Jura gets.
