Patrice Rion claimed his share of Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos des Argillières when he split from the family domaine, and it has anchored the estate's top end ever since — these days under son Maxime, who has been fully in charge since 2015. The 1.8-hectare parcel at the southern end of NSG, on the pink Premeaux limestone, gives a structured, dark-fruited expression of Nuits. Hand-harvested, fermented in open stainless steel, raised about eighteen months in French oak. 2023 brought ripe but lifted Côte de Nuits reds — Argillières usually rewards patience, and this is one to lay down.
