Fonseca declared 1994 as one of the truly great modern Port vintages, and this bottle delivers the house's hallmark richness and voluptuous fruit. Vintage Port is made only in exceptional years, bottled young and laid down to mature over decades. At thirty years on, this has the breed and grip that give great Port its longevity, now softening into complexity. Stand it upright for a day and decant off the sediment before pouring. This is an after-dinner wine; give it air and small glasses.
