Koehler-Ruprecht, Riesling Kabinett Kallstadter Steinacker, 2025 [Pre-Arrival ETA 7/15]

Here's the sweet-ish one—and at a house famous for bone-dry Riesling, that's the whole point. Note what's missing from the label: there's no 'Trocken,' and that's deliberate. This is one of the very few wines Koehler-Ruprecht makes with a touch of residual sugar, a genuinely fruity Kabinett grown in the ancient Steinacker vineyard, a 750-year-old stretch of gravelly sandstone and loess over limestone that nearly encircles the village of Kallstadt. That whisper of sweetness isn't a flaw but a feature: it's balanced by the estate's signature racy acidity, making for a low-alcohol, downright refreshing Riesling that drinks like a cold glass of orchard fruit. Chill it hard and pour it on a warm afternoon.
