Koehler-Ruprecht, Weisser Burgunder (Pinot Blanc) Kabinett Trocken, 2025 [Pre-Arrival ETA 7/15]
Pinot Blanc rarely gets to be this serious. This is a bone-dry Weißer Burgunder from Koehler-Ruprecht, made from a late-harvest selection of old vines—some forty to fifty years old—rooted in the limestone soils around Kallstadt. Picked very ripe but vinified completely dry, it lands somewhere richer and rounder than your average easygoing Pinot Blanc, with real body underneath the freshness. As with everything from this house, it's fermented spontaneously and raised in old neutral casks, so the texture comes from the vineyard and the vessel, not from new oak. A quietly excellent, food-friendly white that overdelivers.
