Founded by Pierpaolo Ferrandes and his wife Alessandra in the early 2000s on family land in southeastern Sicily. The 25-hectare estate is located in Noto, near the Vendicari nature reserve and just 800 meters from the Ionian Sea. Named after "marabino," the local dialect word for the seaward breeze. The vineyards sit on calcareous soils at 50-170 meters elevation. Archimede is 100% Nero d'Avola from vines planted in 1972 and 2008. Certified organic. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel, aged 12 months in used 500L French oak tonneaux.
