Matthieu Barret, (Domaine du Coulet) Cornas Brise Cailloux, 2023 (Pre-sale, wine arrives 7/16/26)
If Billes Noires is Cornas at its most brooding, Brise Cailloux is the estate throwing open its doors. Matthieu Barret, seventh-generation vigneron and committed biodynamic farmer, builds this cuvee from around fifty east-facing granite parcels across his holdings, older vines averaging half a century, aged in concrete eggs for roughly a year to keep the fruit fresh and pure. The result is Cornas you can actually drink young: juicy, mineral and open, with the peppery Syrah snap and granite grip the appellation is famous for, but none of the wait. It is the accessible, generous side of one of the Northern Rhone's great terroirs. Please note this is a pre-sale; the wine arrives 7/16/26.
