Michel Gahier, Arbois Rouge Trousseau La Vigne du Louis, 2024
Named after Michel's brother Louis, to whom the vineyard is leased, La Vigne du Louis sits on a northeast-facing slope requiring later harvest than other reds. The vines are nearly 60 years old with deep root systems drawing complexity from the terroir. Lighter in color and structure than Gahier's Grands Vergers, the wine offers vibrant freshness, smokiness, and cherry notes with silky tannins. Gahier prefers this cuvée with four to five years of age, making this 2024 a fine intro to his Trousseau range.
