"Five Oaks"—named for the trees growing beside this vineyard in Montemarano, Avellino. Salvatore Molettieri founded his winery in 1983 after four generations of family grape-growing. Won first place at Montemarano Wine Festival four consecutive years (1985-1988). 13 hectares at 500-550 meters on clayey-limestone soil with volcanic lapilli. Four sons now help: Giovanni, the eldest, serves as enologist and agronomist. This Irpinia Aglianico is their "baby Taurasi"—24 months in barriques and large oak.
