Located south of Calistoga on Diamond Mountain with caves hand-dug in the 1860s still in use. First American winery to produce méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In 1972, Schramsberg was served at Nixon's historic "Toast to Peace" in Beijing—the first California wine served by a U.S. President abroad.
