Yves Martin's Clos de Beaujeu comes from a single vineyard in Chavignol, a well-regarded village in Sancerre known for its limestone-rich soils. This family estate spans just nineteen hectares, allowing meticulous attention to each plot. The wine ferments in both stainless steel and barrels, with fifty percent barrel aging adding texture while preserving Sancerre's signature minerality. Extended lees aging for a full year develops complexity beyond typical Sancerre.
