"Hormigas" (ants) references both ants that ate their newly planted vines and the Argentine saying "un trabajo de hormigas" meaning humble, patient work. They purchased 206 hectares in Luján de Cuyo, with first wines released in 1997. Alberto holds degrees from Florence, Bordeaux, and UC Davis. The Malbec Clásico is certified organic and fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete. The JardĂn de Hormigas vineyard in Altamira at 1,200 meters is certified organic with 40% native flora for biodiversity.
