Arnot-Roberts, Trousseau North Coast, 2024
Trousseau is one of wine's great chameleons, and in the hands of Arnot-Roberts it becomes a pale, feather-light California red that drinks with the freshness of a serious rose. Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts have built a near-cult following for their restrained, lower-alcohol wines, and this North Coast bottling is a delicious entry point. Sourced largely from the volcanic Luchsinger Vineyard, planted at about 1,400 feet west of Clear Lake, it was fermented whole-cluster and aged in neutral oak to keep the focus on bright fruit and lift. This is a pre-arrival with a July 9 ETA. Serve it with a slight chill.
