Stellenbosch University trained; previously winemaker at Stellakaya for over a decade (hired 2004). Woman Winemaker of the Year 2009. "Umsasane" means acacia tree in Zulu—also her grandmother's nickname. Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. 16 months in French oak, 30% new. Based in Stellenbosch with fruit sourced from Stellenbosch and Elgin.
