Basina, Plavac, 2022

The best Plavac grows on the Peljesac peninsula of the southern Dalmatian coast. Here, you find two appellations, Dingac and Postup. These are incredibly remote and steep vineyards that face the Adriatic sea. Until well into the 20th century, wines produced here could only be transported to the city via donkey. A tunnel was eventually built through the mountains permitting transport by truck. Now we get to drink these wines without risking the dangerous drive up the treacherous roads.
