Capcanes, Peraj Petita, 2024 (Kosher)
Celler de Capcanes began as a cooperative in 1933 in Catalonia's Montsant region, where viticulture dates to the 13th century. The turning point came in 1995 when Barcelona's Jewish community requested a kosher wine—the resulting Peraj Ha'abib ("Spring Flower") transformed the winery's reputation. Today, winemakers Anna Rovira and Jurgen Wagner craft wines from 250 hectares of vineyards on steep, terraced slopes with diverse soils of slate, granite, clay, and limestone. This blend of Garnacha, Carinena, and Tempranillo sees partial aging in French and American oak, producing a bright, fruity red with seductive cherry aromatics and mineral undertones. Kosher certified under Orthodox Union supervision. Ideal with grilled meats or vegetarian dishes.
