This is Right Bank pedigree at a fraction of the fame. Les Cruzelles was the Lalande-de-Pomerol project of the late Denis Durantou, the celebrated hand behind Pomerol's L'Eglise-Clinet, and it delivers his signature elegance from vineyards just outside Pomerol proper, barely a kilometer from the famed plateau. Merlot-dominant with Cabernet Franc, hand-harvested, fermented in cement and aged in 40% new oak, the 2022 comes from a warm, generous vintage. Expect ripe black cherry and cassis, polished structure and real depth. It's approachable young but rewards a few years in the cellar.
