Ciro Picariello, Falanghina 'BruEmm', 2025
A high-altitude Campanian white named for the winemaker's kids. Ciro Picariello and his wife Rita farm 12 hectares in the mountains east of Naples — best known for serious Fiano di Avellino, but BruEmm is something different: a single-vineyard Falanghina from a plot near Benevento. The cuvée's name is a contraction of their children's names, Bruno and Emma. 100% Falanghina, fermented and aged five months in stainless steel with frequent bâtonnage — no oak, no makeup, just the variety speaking through high-elevation Campanian soils. The result is bright, lifted, distinctly mineral: orchard fruit and citrus over a savory, briny core. A summer-table white that punches well above its weight and travels easily from aperitif to dinner.
