Clos des Lunes, Lune d'Argent Bordeaux Blanc, 2023

Here's a fun one: a serious dry white made in the heart of Sauternes, where the climate famously produces sweet wine. Clos des Lunes is the project of Olivier Bernard, of Domaine de Chevalier, who bet that Sauternes' patchwork of great soils could turn out world-class dry Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc instead. Lune d'Argent, the entry cuvee, is the proof: a blend leaning on old-vine Semillon, all citrus, white flowers, and honeysuckle, with both richness and freshness held in balance. An elegant, pure Bordeaux blanc for everyday drinking.
