Domaine de l'Horizon, Mar i Muntanya" Cotes Catalanes Blanc, 2024

Thomas Teibert arrived in Roussillon from Germany and has made Domaine de l'Horizon one of the most talked-about estates in the Côtes Catalanes. Mar i Muntanya — 'sea and mountain' — is the entry-level Blanc, named for the defining geography of this rugged, sun-baked corner of southern France where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. It is a roughly equal blend of Grenache Blanc and Macabeu from organically farmed, sandier parcels near the Mediterranean, made with native yeasts and aged on fine lees in stainless steel. The result is textural, aromatic, and entirely of its place.
