Romain Guiberteau learned his craft alongside the Foucault brothers at the legendary Clos Rougeard, and today he's the reference point for serious Saumur Chenin Blanc. This white is drawn from parcels around Montreuil-Bellay, Breze and Bizay, including old vines planted back in 1935, all rooted in the chalky tuffeau limestone that gives the wine its cut and drive. It delivers the kind of mineral tension and complexity you'd normally chase in far pricier bottles. The 2024 is electric and nervy — all crushed rock and orchard fruit — with the acidity to drink now or hold. Chenin that earns its cult following.
