Coin Gris ("gray corner") is one of Quentin and Marine Vincey's oldest parcels: massal-selection Chardonnay planted in 1954 in Oger Grand Cru, east-facing on a thin 50 cm of brown clay over deep chalk. The shallow topsoil and cooler exposure push the wine toward focus and stony texture rather than power. Biodynamic farming, ambient ferment, 12 months in barrel (20% new, all local oak) and a long 36 months on the lees precede zero-dosage disgorgement with no added sulfur. The result is one of the most savory, substantial bottlings in Vincey's lineup, a Blanc de Blancs of fresh pear, dried herbs and chalk-laced tension that needs no dosage to taste complete.
