Verdicchio's cult bottling. Fattoria Coroncino, founded in 1981 by Lucio Canestrari in the heart of the Castelli di Jesi Classico zone, helped redefine what this grape could do - and Gaiospino is the estate's flagship. The fruit comes from the Spescia vineyard, planted on calcareous marl at 400 meters with a south-west exposure, picked at full maturity from low-yielding vines. A portion ferments in 500-liter oak barrels; the rest in stainless. Everything then rests on its lees for 16 to 18 months before bottling - the kind of extended elevage that gives Verdicchio its serious, age-worthy register. The 2021, with a few years of bottle age now, is hitting its stride: rich, mineral, almost Burgundian in cut.
