Carema sits where the Alps descend into Piedmont, at altitude where Nebbiolo ripens slowly and demands patience. Ferrando has been the benchmark here for generations. Vines cling to rocky morainic terraces, trained on stone pergolas whose pillars capture alpine heat by day and release it at night—a technique so old it's architecture. The 2021 is elegant and accessible now: rose petals, wild herbs, orange peel, silky tannins. Thirty months in mixed barrels, unfined, unfiltered.
