Graham Beck is South Africa's most famous bubbly — the wine poured at Nelson Mandela's 1994 inauguration and again when Barack Obama celebrated his 2008 election victory. The winery, based in Robertson, has been making méthode champenoise sparkling (called Méthode Cap Classique, or MCC, in South Africa) since the 1980s and is now one of the country's largest specialists in the format. This vintage-dated 2019 Brut is a classical Chardonnay-Pinot Noir blend, given extended time on its lees for breadth and creamy mousse.
