Graham's, Vintage Port, 2000

Graham's is one of the grand old houses of the Douro, and Vintage Port is the top of the pyramid: a fortified red made only in the best years and bottled young so it ages for decades in the cellar. The 2000 was a declared vintage, a benchmark year that has matured into a deep, brooding, classic Graham's. Because Vintage Port throws a heavy sediment, decant it carefully off the deposit before serving. This is a wine for slow evenings, a fire, and good company. A little goes a long way.
