Isabelle Suire, Saumur Rouge, 2023

Isabelle Suire, a fourth-generation winemaker in Berrie (Saumur), is transitioning her family vineyard to organic certification. Her Saumur Rouge is pure Cabernet Franc from a west-facing clay-limestone parcel, farmed with cover crops and high trellising. It's a vibrant expression of Loire terroir with red plum, pepper, and earthy notes—proof that Saumur's reds merit more attention.
