J-L Chave Selections, Hermitage "Farconnet", 2021

The négociant label from one of Hermitage's legendary families—16 generations of Chave winemakers since 1481. Farconnet blends fruit from three parcels on the Hermitage hill: Diognières (alluvial pebbles, spice), Péleat (sand and limestone, finesse), and Greffieux (glacial river stones, structure). Grapes destemmed, fermented in stainless steel, aged up to 18 months in oak with some new wood, bottled unfiltered. Named for the nobleman who gifted the family their first vineyard. Hermitage at a more accessible price than the legendary domaine wines.
