Kumusha is the project of Tinashe Nyamudoka, a Zimbabwe-born former head sommelier at Cape Town's Test Kitchen who decided he wanted to make wine, not just pour it. "Kumusha" means home or roots in Shona, and that's the spirit here. This Chenin Blanc comes from the Breedekloof, a cooler, increasingly exciting corner of South Africa, made with natural fermentations and a minimal-intervention hand. The result is fresh, honest and transparent, Chenin doing what Chenin does best. A genuinely feel-good bottle with a great story behind it. Serve well chilled.
