Louis-Claude Desvignes, Morgon La Voute Saint-Vincent, 2024
A marvelous Morgon from one of the cru's benchmark names. Siblings Louis-Benoît and Claude-Emmanuelle Desvignes are the eighth generation to make Gamay here, working certified-organic vines around Villé-Morgon, and this cuvée is named for the vaulted cellar (the voûte) beneath their 18th-century family house—and for Saint Vincent, patron saint of winemakers. It's the estate's more immediate, joyful expression of Morgon, drawn off decomposed-granite soils, all crunchy dark fruit and floral lift. Serious Beaujolais that doesn't ask you to wait. Chill it slightly and pour.
