Mas de Gourgonnier, Les Baux-de-Provence Rose, 2025
A juicy, savory expression of Provence with real mineral grip, from one of the region's organic pioneers. Mas de Gourgonnier has farmed organically in the Les Baux-de-Provence appellation since the 1970s, longer than just about anyone around them, working very rocky, dry soils of decomposed limestone and clay near Mouriès. The rosé blends Grenache with Cinsault and a slug of Cabernet Sauvignon, hand-harvested and fermented on native yeasts in stainless steel. Unlike the pale, water-clear style that dominates the category, this is a rosé with grip and herbal savor, the kind you can sip poolside but also bring to the table. A reliable everyday house pink with more personality than its price suggests.
