Newfound, Gravels California Red Wine, 2022

Southern Rhône-inspired blend from a rising Sierra Foothills producer. Founded 2016 by Matt Naumann (former assistant winemaker at Failla, now president/winemaker for Wade Cellars) and Audra Chapman. 2022 blend: 65% Grenache, 25% Carignan, 10% Mourvèdre. Grenache sourced from Cemetery Vineyard in Mendocino—young dry-farmed bush vines planted in an 18-inch layer of gravel. 100% whole-bunch fermentation. Vinified separately in concrete and neutral 500L barrels, blended before bottling.
