Outward Wines, Montana de Oro Central Coast, 2025
A cool-Coast California white blend from a husband-and-wife project to know. Ryan Pace and Natalie Siddique founded Outward Wines in 2016 - he trained at Cal Poly and spent seven years as winemaker at Byron in Santa Maria; she fell in love with the wild coastal park called Montaña de Oro, which now lends its name to this cuvée.
Montaña de Oro is a blend of Chenin Blanc from Shell Creek (60%), Sauvignon Blanc from Two Wolves (20%), and Chardonnay from Golden Bluff vineyard. It’s vibrant and energetic, with notes of tangerine and stone fruit, with a crushed rock minerality and gingery spice.
