It sits just off-dry, feinherb in the German shorthand, meaning a whisper of sweetness that ripe fruit and zippy acidity swallow whole. Think of it as the Saar's answer to Bourgogne Blanc, an honest introduction to a great estate that won't require a second mortgage.
