Quinta do Ermizio, Vinho Verde, 2025

Vinho Verde is one of the great value zones for crisp, mineral whites, and Quinta do Ermizio is a charming example from a retired horticulture professor near Guimaraes in northern Portugal. The vines grow on granite soils in the traditional pergola system, farmed with cover crops and minimal treatments. Built mostly on Loureiro and Trajadura, fermented with native yeasts in steel, it's a fresh, easygoing white made the honest way. The 2025 is a fridge-door crowd-pleaser, best drunk young and cold.
