Renaissance, Sancerre Cote de l'Epee, 2024
Renaissance is a moving story turned into excellent wine: brothers Mathieu and Benoit Fleuriet took over the Sancerre vines of their friend Stephane Marchand after a serious illness, farming them organically and biodynamically. This cuvee comes from the Cote de l'Epee, a tiny, super-steep parcel of flinty silex soil that gives Sancerre its smoky, mineral intensity. Hand-harvested and made as naturally as possible, it's a precise, terroir-driven Sauvignon Blanc. The 2024 is taut and energetic, built for clean food and a little patience.
