Robert Chevillon, Bourgogne Rouge, 2020

A great way into one of Nuits-Saint-Georges' most revered addresses without the village price. The Chevillon family has farmed here for generations, and brothers Denis and Bertrand now run the 13-hectare estate built up by their father Robert, who was first to bottle the wines rather than sell to negociants. This Bourgogne Rouge is 100% Pinot Noir from younger vines and declassified fruit off their excellent holdings, so it carries the house style, classic, transparent, beautifully made, in an approachable, everyday package. The 2020 is a generous, ripe vintage. Drink it over the next several years.
