Rose & Arrow, Eola Springs Chardonnay, 2022

Rose & Arrow hunts down rare threads of ancient volcanic rock in Oregon, and this Chardonnay comes from a tiny piece of basalt within the Eola Springs vineyard, yielding just a sliver of production. Founded by Mark Tarlov and Burgundy's Louis-Michel Liger-Belair, the project now runs on terroir expert Pedro Parra's soil mapping and winemaker Felipe Ramirez's wild-yeast, oxygen-rich approach. The result is crystalline and precise, all about tension and stone rather than richness. The 2022 is a serious, mineral-driven Chardonnay for fans of cool-climate whites.
