Blandy's, 5 Year Old Medium Rich Bual Madeira, NV

Blandy's was established in 1811 when John Blandy (who arrived in Madeira in 1808) founded a wine shipping business with his brothers. Now in its 7th generation, Blandy's is the only family of all original Madeira wine trade founders still owning and managing their original company—over 210 years of continuous family ownership. The family manages 7 hectares across three vineyard properties. Bual is one of four noble white varietals of Madeira, producing medium-rich wines. Aged using the traditional Canteiro system in American oak casks in the lodges of Funchal, with gentle heating as wine moves through the floors over years.
