Chateau Musar, Musar Jeune Blanc, 2023

Chateau Musar is a legend for its ageworthy red, but its Jeune range shows the estate's fresher, more immediate side, and this white is pure summer. Grown organically in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley at around 1,000 meters, Musar Jeune Blanc is the young, unoaked cuvee, a blend of Viognier, Vermentino and Chardonnay, and it's a different animal from the flagship white made from indigenous Obaideh and Merwah. Fermented in concrete with native yeasts, minimal sulfur, no fining or filtration, it's built for drinking now. Serve it lightly chilled. Think spiced pear, elderflower and meadow herbs over a dry, cleansing finish.
