Jerome Galeyrand, Gevrey-Chambertin Les Croisettes, 2014
Les Croisettes is a Gevrey-Chambertin lieu-dit on the village's lower, gravelly ground, farmed organically and biodynamically by Jerome Galeyrand, one of Burgundy's most committed self-taught growers. He came up through the food trade and an apprenticeship with Alain Burguet before buying his first sliver of vines, and he works his wines naturally, native yeasts, minimal sulfur. This is a 2014, a fresher and more tightly-structured vintage, now with a decade of bottle age behind it. It's drinking nicely today and has the acidity to carry a few more years.
