Bois de Boursan, Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge, 2010
A textbook traditional Chateauneuf from a great vintage, now with fifteen years of bottle age behind it. Domaine Bois de Boursan sits entirely within the village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, where Jean-Paul Versino farms organically and makes his Tradition cuvee the uncompromising old way: Grenache-led blend with Mourvedre and Syrah, fermented whole-cluster (no destemming), long maceration, and aging in old foudres. 2010 is one of the southern Rhone's benchmark modern vintages, prized for its freshness and structure, and this bottle has had the time to fully integrate. A mature Chateauneuf drinking in its prime. Decant.
