Bonneau du Martray is famous for its white Corton-Charlemagne, which makes this red Corton Grand Cru a quiet treasure: Pinot Noir from the domaine's small holding on the Corton hill, from the celebrated 1999 vintage. Now well into maturity, it has traded primary fruit for the savory, perfumed complexity that only time in bottle delivers. This is a wine to open for the pleasure of drinking mature Grand Cru Burgundy, and it is drinking beautifully right now. Stored in climate control until it left our shop, it is ready for a special occasion table.
