Domaine Poisot, Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru, 2012
A Grand Cru from a tiny domaine with an extraordinary backstory, now with bottle age. Domaine Poisot traces its Romanee-Saint-Vivant and Corton holdings to 1902 when Marie Poisot inherited a share of her father Louis Latour's estate; Remi Poisot took back the family vines and resumed making the wine himself in 2010 after 25 years as a French naval officer. Corton-Bressandes is the most elegant, finely structured of the Corton Grand Cru climats. The small, concentrated 2012 vintage gave depth and richness, and this is now beginning its mature window.
