Ferrando, Carema Etichetta Bianca, 2006
Ferrando is the legendary grower of Carema, the tiny alpine appellation tucked into the steep terraced slopes where Piedmont meets the Aosta Valley. This is Nebbiolo grown almost in the mountains, which gives Carema its signature high-toned, almost ethereal character, more delicate and perfumed than Barolo but with the structure to age for decades. The Etichetta Bianca (white label) is the annual bottling, aged in a mix of large and small barrels. This 2006 comes from a classic, structured vintage and is now fully mature, ready to drink for fans of older, savory Nebbiolo.
