The late, great Giuseppe Quintarelli was a staunch traditionalist who dried his grapes for Amarone and aged the wines for as long as they needed, making bottles regarded among Italy's very greatest. This Amarone is from 1993, a mature back-vintage from a private collection. Built from dried Corvina, Rondinella, and other regional grapes, it has spent decades evolving from a powerhouse into something profound: dried cherry and fig, leather, cocoa, dried herbs, and warm spice, with the dried-grape weight softened by time.
