Tua Rita, Suvereto Redigaffi, 2010

Tua Rita, founded by Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti in 1984, sits just outside Suvereto in Tuscany's Colline Metallifere, and Redigaffi is the wine that made the estate famous. It's pure Merlot, hand-picked from organically farmed vineyards, fermented in temperature-controlled vats and matured in French oak. Lush, deep and polished, it's one of Italy's benchmark Merlots, a coastal Tuscan answer to great Right Bank Bordeaux. The 2010, from a celebrated vintage, has the structure and concentration to reward patience, and shows beautifully with a decant.
