Burlotto, Barolo Cannubi, 2013
Cannubi is one of Barolo's most storied vineyards, a sun-favored ridge in the Barolo commune that yields perfumed, silky Nebbiolo. For the Verduno-based Burlotto, it's a prized outpost, farmed and vinified traditionally with long maceration and aging in large Slavonian botti. The 2013 is a classic, firmly structured vintage, so this still carries serious backbone at a decade-plus; it's opening up but has years ahead. Decant generously if drinking now.
