Chateau Beausejour, J.Duffau-Lagarrosse Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 2014
Premier Grand Cru Classé B—among the highest tier in Saint-Emilion. The original Beauséjour vineyard was divided in 1869 when Pierre-Paulin Ducarpe's daughter married into the Duffau-Lagarrosse family. Just 6.75 hectares on the Saint-Emilion plateau: 81% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon on limestone and clay. Robert Parker awarded perfect 100-point scores to the 1990, 2009, and 2010 vintages. In 2021, the Courtin-Clarins family purchased the estate; this 2014 predates that transition. Historic Saint-Emilion at its peak.
